FTP Upload

Step 1: Obtain FTP client software.

Uploading to the server via FTP requires special software. Most computer systems do not come with FTP software, so you will have to download them from the internet first. We suggest: IBM/Windows:
LeechFTP
(free),
WS_FTP LE
(free),
FTP Explorer
(free),
CuteFTP
(free trial).

Macintosh:
Fetch
(free),
Transmit
(free trial). Step 2: Connect to the server. All FTP clients/software require the following information in order to upload: Username – This is your account username.

Password – This is your password for your account.

Address – This is the address of the server. Use ftp.uwdomeinnaam.com

Port – Use the default port(21).

Some ftp programs may ask for the host type (select “auto”), ASCII/Binary/Auto (select “auto”), and the home directory of your account (you can leave this blank or change it to /domains/uwdomeinnaam.com/public_html to launch on your account’s main website). Step 3: Open the public_html folder by clicking on it and upload your files [en submappen] within this public_html folder. If you have more than one domain hosted on your account, you must first enter the /domains folder of the domain in question that you want to change, then the public_html folder. To upload: click on the files/folders on your computer and drag them to the designated folder on the server. Each FTP client works differently, so please refer to the help file for complete instructions.
