Creating forwarders in DirectAdmin

Forwarders allow you to forward incoming mail directly to another address. For example, let’s say you send an email to [email protected] and to [email protected] but want them to arrive in the POP3 account [email protected]. You can create two forwarders that will let you do this.

Note: You cannot set up a forwarder if the username is already in use by a POP3 account, autoresponder, or mailing list.

To set up a forwarder, you must first have access to the “E-Mail Menu” of the control panel. Then click on “Forwarders” and then on “Create New Forwarder” at the top of this page. You will see a table like the one below:

Enter the forwarder name and destination address and then click the “Create” button. You can create multiple forwarders at once by simply putting multiple addresses in a row with only a comma in between (no spaces): [email protected],[email protected],[email protected]

Changing / Deleting Forwarders

All forwarders are listed in the forwarders menu. Select the forwarder you want to delete and click “Delete Selected”.

A forwarder can be changed by clicking on “Modify” behind the forwarder. “Modify” allows you to change the destination of the email, but not the forwarders name.
