Here’s how to add an extra email address in Apple Mail.
- Open the email application
- Go to the Mail > menu item Preferences
- Click the Accounts tab
- Click on the plus sign ‘Add Account’ in the bottom left corner
Account settings
- Enter your name under ‘Full name’ (it will be shown to others)
- Enter your full email address under ‘Email address’
- Enter the corresponding password under ‘Password’
- Click Continue
- Choose ‘Connect’ for the security notification
Incoming mail server
- Under ‘Account type’, choose POP or IMAP
- Enter a description of the e-mail box (business, private, etc.) under ‘Description’.
- Enter mail.uwdomeinnaam.nl in ‘Server incoming e-mail’ (replace ‘uwdomeinnaam.nl’ with your own domain name)
- Enter your full email address under ‘Username’
- Click Continue
Outgoing mail server
- Under ‘Description:’, enter your general description for the outgoing mail server
- Enter mail.uwdomeinnaam.nl for ‘Outgoing mail server’ (replace ‘uwdomeinnaam.nl’ with your own domain name)
- Check the box for ‘Use only this server’
- Check the box for ‘Use authentication’
- Enter your full email address and password
- Click Continue
Account Overview
- You will now find an overview. Check the box for ‘Put account online’
- Click on ‘Create’
