Your domain name has been quarantined because it has been deleted. Deleted names are quarantined for 40 days, but can still be reactivated at any time during this period. During the quarantine period, websites or email addresses associated with the domain name will no longer work. Once the quarantine period has expired, the domain names will be released and can be registered by anyone, on a first-come, first-served basis. There are three reasons to delete a domain name:
- The domain name holder no longer wants the name. In that case, the quarantine period of 40 days serves as a cooling-off period. The name can still be reactivated within this period if the registrant changes his mind and wants to keep the name.
- The registrant didn’t pay the renewal fee, and his registrar had to remove the name because of outstanding invoices. After 40 days of quarantine, the name will be released for general registration on a first-come, first-served basis, unless the registrant wants to reactivate the name before that point.
- The domain name has been revoked by EURid because the domain name holder does not meet the eligibility criteria. Revoked domain names can only be reactivated by EURid.
