Learn how to manually set up Mail for Windows 8 to automatically fetch mail.
- Open the email application
- Move your mouse to the top right corner so that the menu appears straight
- Click on ‘Settings’
- Click on ‘Accounts’
- Click on ‘Add account’
- Click on ‘Other Account’
- Choose ‘IMAP’
- Click on ‘Connect’
- Enter your full email address under ‘Email address’
- Enter the corresponding password under ‘Password’
- Click on ‘Connect’
Because the computer has not registered your e-mail address before, you will receive an error message and will be asked for more information. Fill in all the details to activate the email account.
- Enter your full email address under ‘Email address’
- Enter your full email address under ‘Username’
- Enter the corresponding password under ‘Password’
- Enter mail.uwdomeinnaam.nl at ‘Incoming (IMAP) e-mail server’ (replace ‘uwdomeinnaam.nl’ with your own domain name)
- Enter 143 at ‘port’
- Uncheck the box for ‘Incoming server requires SSL’
- Enter mail.uwdomeinnaam.nl for ‘Outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server’ (replace ‘uwdomeinnaam.nl’ with your own domain name)
- Enter 587 at ‘port’
- Uncheck the box for ‘Outgoing server requires SSL’
- Uncheck the box for ‘Outgoing server requires authentication’ (the next checkmark will be automatically blocked)
- Click on ‘Connect’
